Hello River Valley!!
We are on our last week before we begin the "40 Days of Community" program. We hope that through all of the prayer in the past month, you have become as excited as we are. In 1 Corinthians 1:9 Paul writes, "God is faithful." It is because of God's faithfulness that we anticipate more people will have learned the joy of dying to self and becoming alive in Christ!
This week, we ask that your prayers are directed to the journey we will begin next week. Pray that the lost become found and the spiritually blind become able to see. Next week is Easter and we will have a number of people arrive that do not understand the Good News. Pray that their hearts would be open and prepared to receive the life changing message of God's love and each person's need for Him.
Pray for families within our church; that they might learn the importance of serving together as a family. However, also pray for families that will be impacted by our church; that they might learn the value of Christ crucified. Ask God to strengthen relationships; those within our church, those within our small groups, and those outside of our church.
That covers the three values of our church. Now, pray for this adventure to serve as a catalyst for our four strategies. That we would be a church that better understands the importance of worship, small groups, spiritual practices, and mission; and continues to apply these things to our lives after "40 Days of Community" is finished.
We realize that this e-mail may seem redundant, but remember that these three values at River Valley and our four strategies for reaching them is the very core of our church centered on Jesus Christ. Since it is the DNA of who we are, we must live and breathe these things. In order for this to happen, we must pray for God's help. So please, as you pray this week, break down the values and strategies and pray for each one individually. Ask God to move in incredible ways in the hearts and lives of River Valley and Bastrop. The power of prayer should never be underestimated.
In 2 Peter 1:12-13, Peter writes, "Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you. I consider it right, as long as I am in this earthly dwelling, to stir you up by way of reminder."
God Bless,
River Valley Staff
